Some tips on keeping your diamond jewelry clean.

Professional Cleaning

We recommend that you take your diamond jewelry to an established jeweler every six months to have your ring professionally cleaned and polished. When you have a professional jeweler do this they will also inspect your diamond and the mounting to ensure that it has not been chipped or knocked loose.

Fred Meyer Jewelers/Littman Jewelers is happy to clean and inspect your jewelry for FREE.

Mild Liquid Detergent Soak

Get a small bowl or cup and fill it with warm water and a small amount of mild liquid detergent. Soak your jewelry for about hour, this will break up any dirt and grime on your jewelry. After soaking, take a soft toothbrush and gently scrub your jewelry. After, rinse your jewelry under warm water. Dry with a soft cloth, free of lint.

Tip: Use an old tea strainer that closes when rinsing. This will be very helpful with small pieces or earrings and will also help to prevent the slippery jewelry from falling.

Household Ammonia Wash*

Place your jewelry in a small bowl or cup that contains a half-and-half mixture of ammonia and cold water. Soak for thirty minutes. Take out and gently brush the mounting with a small soft brush. Wash the jewelry in the mixture for a second time, rinse off with cold water and air-dry on a paper towel.

* Please note: an ammonia wash should never be use on emeralds, opals and pearls. The use of ammonia on these types of products can be harmful to any finishes/treatments applied to these gemstones.

Jewelry Cleaners

Any brand name, liquid jewelry cleaner will do. Follow the instruction given on the label. Consult Fred Meyer Jewelers/Littman Jewelers for brand names or to purchase jewelry cleaner and polishing cloths.

Reminder: When washing your jewelry or diamonds over the sink remember to plug the drain before you begin to ensure your jewelry does not fall down the drain.

The moment I saw this ring I knew it was the one. I completely stopped looking at other rings. I have NEVER even for ONE second regretted getting this ring! I get complimented on it left and right. The middle diamond did become a little loose, but I took it in right away and FM is fixing it. I have the two bands and I can't stop looking at it no matter what I'm doing.... sometimes I get jealous of myself.....

I fell in love with the vintage look of this ring that first time I saw it! My fiance and I just purchased our rings yesterday and I am so excited. The only bad part is waiting for the ring to come as I needed it 2 sizes smaller than they had....so it will be 6-8 weeks before it gets here. Barely in time for the wedding!
